Setting up your Nimvelo account for remote working
As the risk of COVID-19 spreading in the UK increases, more and more people are going to be taking the right precautions and choosing to work remotely. If you need any assistance in ensuring your phone system is set up correctly for your team to work remotely, be sure to get in touch with us and we’ll make sure everything is how it should be.
What you need to do with your phone system:
Redirect calls to mobiles, softphones, or home handsets.
Ensure ring groups and call queues are all set up correctly.
What is a softphone?
A softphone is an app you can download on your smartphone which works as your extension. You can receive incoming calls and make outgoing calls as if you were at your desk: all you need is an internet connection!
If you do not have a reliable internet connection out of the office, you do have the option to forward your calls to a virtual extension instead. This can be set up and toggled on or off via the portal. Please do get in touch if you require assistance setting this up.
Invite all staff members to ‘the team’ page of the portal and allocate them their default extension.
Ask your team to accept the invite sent by email, and to set their username andpassword.
Download Cloud Softphone from the app store.
Log in with the username you just created followed by @nimvelo (username@nimvelo) and your password.
Make meetings easier
Being remote means more remote meetings. Our amazing team built a “virtual meeting room” making it easier for you and your team to have remote meetings when working from home. All you have to do is go to https://meet.nimvelo.com and start a new meeting.
We will be using this ourselves and you are welcome to. Don’t consider this a product or expect support but if it helps you or your customers out during this time we’ll be really happy!
