Business VoIP

Moving office? Who’s got your number?

One of the decisions many companies face when moving offices, is what to do with their existing business number. With companies putting a lot of time, effort and money into their marketing and literature, the last thing they want to do is change their number and lose sales.

Traditional telephone companies allocate each number to a specific exchange, making porting between different areas impossible. This leaves you with two options; you can either place a recorded message on the line telling customers to call the new number, or you can set up a full divert keeping both numbers in use and paying divert fees forever more. Both of these options incur unnecessary additional charges.

So is there an alternative?

You can port your number to a VoIP service for a small, one-off charge. This will allow the number to be hosted on the internet, meaning you will no longer be tied to a fixed location. Switching to a internet phone service also has other advantages, as you can now have your office anywhere (as long as there is an internet connection), allowing your business to be more flexible. If you port over a single line it will become a multi-line number and you will be able to receive as many simultaneous calls as your broadband can handle.

With only one line needed (your broadband line) and low monthly fees, the cost saving benefits are also a major advantage.

Number porting starts from as little as £15.00 and could take as little as 10 days to complete.
