We recently received a request from one of our customers, who wanted to allow callers the option of leaving a voicemail at any time whilst waiting in a queue, by pressing a key on their telephone keypad.
The development team agreed that this would be a useful feature and it has now been added to the portal. You can turn on the setting by editing your call queue settings and selecting a destination for the “On keypress, transfer to” option. The destination can be any other endpoint on your system such as a mailbox, ring group, extension, etc.
We enjoy hearing from customers who have ideas for new features, such as this one, as it helps us to continue improving the service for everyone (it keeps the developers busy, too!).
